Rural Locking Mailbox Heavy Duty 1/8 Inch Steel

Built from durable 1/8" (11 gauge) steel this locking mailbox is designed as both a rural locking mailbox or as a secure urban locking mailbox. Two durable powder coated color options are available, black or gray. 

Thicker than any other locking mailbox available on the market in its price point. It was designed for those needing high security, but on a budget.  

Weighing in at 38 lbs., this mailbox is designed to secure your mail.  Unlike many other looking mailboxes its closer in size to a standard non-locking mailbox and able to hold an average of 1 week of mail.  Overall dimensions are 10 1/4″ Wide x 10″ High x 20″ Depth.

The postal-carrier inserts the incoming mail into the slot which is 10″W x 1.75″H. This is an open face designed slot which means the postal carrier does not open a drop door to deposit the mail. An overhang protect the opening from rain. There is no out going slot leading to a more high secure mailbox. All out going mail should be taken to your local post office. 

Two high-security tubular keys for the 7 pin tubular lock are included and there is an option to upgrade to either a Medeco high security lock.

The front access door is standard however there is an option for a front and rear access door, a fake front access door with a working rear door, or a rear access door only. This high security mailbox will also work well as a payment drop box for rent checks, municipalities, or similar applications.  

There are two post options, either an in ground or a surface mounted post. The in ground post requires a hole to be dug and cemented in place and the surface mounted plate has a flat steel plate on the bottom of the post which must be bolted to an existing hard surface like a sidewalk or driveway.  The in ground post dimensions are 2.5″ x 2.5″ x 57″.

Free vinyl address numbers can be chosen in the final option.
