Frequently asked questions.

Straight answers about locking mailboxes, drop boxes, mounting, and ordering. If your question is not here, call Steve at 817-602-8372.

What are your mailboxes made of?

High quality stainless steel or durable galvanized steel, built for a lifetime of use, plus a select few thick gauge aluminum models that hold up well near the ocean. Coated boxes have a durable powder coated finish.

If the box is locked, how does mail get in?

Every box has a mail slot or hopper door. Slots are sized so a hand cannot reach the mail, and hopper doors close off the storage area while they are open.

Does the postal carrier have a key?

No. The carrier drops mail through the slot and it falls into the locked body of the box. Nothing to hand out, nothing to lose.

Should I use my existing post or buy one?

You can use your existing post. If you are buying new, we recommend the post made for the box, since the mounting pattern and height will match exactly.

How do I mount a locking mailbox?

Two options: wall mount or post mount. Every box ships with instructions for both.

Which mailbox is right for me?

For wall mount boxes, pick the style that suits your home, they are all similar in function. For curbside, size matters most: model SM7 or A5100B for envelopes and magazines, AB20B for the highest security, AS16HB or the extra large ASXLHB if you get parcels or travel for weeks at a time. Or call Steve and describe your mail.

Is there a place for outgoing mail?

Most boxes have an outgoing mail area. With mail theft climbing we still recommend dropping outgoing mail at an official USPS box when you can.

What do the steel gauges mean?

Lower gauge means thicker, stronger steel. 16 gauge is thicker and tougher than 20 gauge. Many of our boxes use heavier steel exactly where thieves pry. For high security needs we carry 14 gauge and even quarter inch plate models.

Is it safe to order online?

Yes. Checkout runs on Shopify, the same encrypted checkout used by millions of stores. We never see your full card number. Prefer the phone? Call 817-602-8372 and order with Steve directly.
